Philips will introduce a new range of LED lamps for the consumer market in September that can be used as direct replacements for existing light sources. These LED bulbs and spot lamps can simply be inserted into standard lamp fittings, and use only a fraction of the energy required by other lamp types and last up to 25 times longer than traditional incandescent light bulbs.
